These giant, technicolor squirrels have dream coats — and they are putting the Big Apple’s boring gray guys to shame.
An amateur photographer is about to break the internet with his images of India’s brilliantly colored Malabar giant squirrel.
Known locally as “shekru,” these tan, orange, maroon and purple squirrels are 3 feet long from head to tip of tail — twice as large as the eastern gray variety.
They spend their days leaping bough to bough in pursuit of their favorite fruits, nuts and tree bark.
“The sight was an absolute feast for my eyes,” photographer Kaushik Vijayan, 39, said of the bushy-tailed beauty he found in an Indian forest.
He’d never even heard of such a critter, he told SWNS.
“The squirrels fascinated me and I got excited to capture this beauty on my camera,” he said.
“Up until that point I had never heard about a squirrel like that, or seen one,” he added.
He shared some photos of the radiant rodent on social media, and they took off, earning thousands of likes and comments and inspiring him to take more pictures.
“The response I see from the people on social media when I post a picture of the giant squirrels fuels my enthusiasm to go out there,” he said.
