7 year old identifies dad to police as mom's killer.

A 7-year-old boy in Texas identified his father to authorities as his mom’s killer, according to officials.

Daniel Merrill Sullivan, 30, was arrested Monday in the stabbing death of his 31-year-old wife, Sophia, at their Fort Davis home, the Odessa American reported.

The Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office said the man called authorities Friday evening to report that he found his wife dead on the floor and believed someone murdered her.

Sullivan said he found her body, grabbed his son and took him to a neighbour's home to make the 911 call.

Authorities arrived to find the woman with fatal stab wounds to her arms, side and back.

During the investigation, the suspect went outside with officers and the boy stayed at the neighbour's home.

Inside the house, the child told the neighbours that his dad was responsible for his mom’s death. According to authorities, the boy then went outside, pointed to his dad and claimed again that he killed the woman.

Sullivan agreed to take a polygraph test Monday and failed. Swabs of his hands taken from the scene also tested positive for blood.

He was arrested Monday on murder charges and booked at Hudspeth County Jail on $130,000 bond.

The 31-year-old mom was a teacher at Marfa High Schools which called her death a “great loss” in a statement shared Sunday on Facebook.
