Two People planning to rob eatery accidently call 911

Image result for dumb criminals

"At this point in time, they have probably been released and charged with some alcohol-related offenses," the city chief of police said of the almost-robbers.
In the long history of dumb crimes, this one is, perhaps, one of the dumbest, because the criminals sabotaged their own plans before they could execute them.
That's what happens when you accidentally call 911 while discussing strategies to rob a restaurant.
And that's not it: The city police chief happened to be eating dinner at the very same location.
It all went down at Brothers' BBQ and Brewing Co. in Danville, Ky., The Advocate-Messenger reports.
“There was some conversation about when they should do it. They might be recognized if they do it in Danville, and I think they did talk about some different locations,” Danville Police Chief Tony Gray said of the phone call. “Somewhere in the conversation my name was brought up.”
It was a poetic mistake. One of the robbers had inadvertently activated his phone's emergency dial mode.
The call prompted a Danville officer to visit Gray at Brothers' BBQ to see if Gray himself had made the call, since his name was heard somewhere in the conversation, and he could have been hashing out a case.
However, the call was coming from the parking lot of the eatery, and the two would-be criminals were sitting in a vehicle. The restaurant owner said they were there earlier in the day, having drinks.
The offenders were arrested, and both were charged with public intoxication for the second time.
“At this point in time, they have probably been released and charged with some alcohol-related offenses," Gray said. "We will be letting the prosecutor listen to the tape to make a call on any further charges."
In a word, wow.
