We are co-creators with the Universe. The moment you accept that statement as
fact, you will start to feel more empowered to manifest changes and create opportunities in your life. So often, we feel powerless to the circumstances life hands us when in reality we can help navigate the course of our life. If you want to manifest miracles in your life, you must set aside time and commit to a period of weeks devoted to manifesting. Studies show that it takes 21 to create a habit in our life. Make manifesting a habit. Commit to 21 days of manifesting. Create a goal book or vision board to turn your dreams and goals into a visual reality.A goal book or vision board works because it combines the two most powerful tools at our disposal – the ability to create with words and images. Think of the bible. How did God create this world? With His words. When we have a thought and turn it into an action, we create our reality. A goal book is nothing more than an organized file, a manual, of how you want your life to look. Your goal book should consist of three to five goals you want to achieve in the next couple of years. Think about areas of your life you want to change. If you want a new job, look through magazines and cut out a picture of someone looking happy and successful at work. If you want new love, cut out a picture of two people in love. If you want more money, cut out a picture that represents financial abundance to you. Glue each picture to its own page and underneath the picture write an affirmation for your goal. Keep it in the present tense. Your subconscious mind does not understand linear time. If you think about a tragic or sad event that happened to you in the past, your subconscious mind will react as though it’s happening now. Cortisol will flood through you. Science has proven this. If you think about a happy memory, your energy will soar with joyful thoughts and emotions. Therefore, it’s imperative that you write your goal affirmations in the present tense. “I am so happy at my new job that pays well, provides excellent benefits and fosters a harmonious, happy work environment.” Or “I am so happy in my new romantic relationship that is rooted in respect, romance, equality, passion, joy and unconditional love.” Keep all the words in your affirmation statement positive as well as present. For example, don’t write, “I am so grateful that I am now debt free.” You don’t want to affirm debt anywhere in your energy. Instead try, “I am so happy that each month I have more than enough to pay my bills with money left over for savings and fun.” On the last page of your goal book, write, “This is something better” because this shows the Universe you are open to co-creating and open to new ideas that you can’t even envision for yourself just yet.
All our power to create is rooted in our subconscious. This area of our energy only creates in pictures. We dream in pictures, not words. When we think, we imagine pictures. If someone tells you a story about dogs and cats, you don’t see the words “dogs” and “cats” when you remember the story. You see a picture of a dog and a cat. When we create a goal book combining pictures and words, it sends a message directly to our subconscious that says, “Let’s create this.” Once you’ve created your goal book, commit to a 21- day period of positivity.
Maintain a positive environment for 21 days. Avoid negative news and media. Take a break from negative people at work and in your social life. Don’t watch sad, violent or scary movies. Marinate in an energy of positivity as you take time to place your order with the Universe and endeavor to take control of your life.
Be prepared for the Universe to test you. Promise yourself that you will persevere when this happens. When we set out to create change in our life, the Universe always stops and says, “Are you sure? Are you positive this is what you want?” And this is when the testing begins. Let’s say you want a new job and you begin to manifest that. At your current job, you might get a bonus or a raise. You’ll pause and think, “Wait. Does this mean I’m supposed to stay here?” This is the Universe’s way of testing you to see if you really want this change. Conversely, if you’re getting the intuitive message to look for a new job and you ignore it, the Universe will conspire to make your job difficult. You might get a new boss who’s angry and controlling. Remember, you are a co-creator with the Universe. The more you act in harmony with the Universe, the more things in your life will go your way.
When you’re tested by the Universe, stand in your power and hold your ground. If you’re trying to lose weight, for example, and you’ve joined a gym and started eating healthy foods, and then all of a sudden your triggers for overeating start, take a deep breath and remind yourself, “This is just the Universe testing me to see if I am really ready for this change.” Push through the triggers and stick to your goal. Before you know it, the Universe will see that you are in fact serious about your goal and will help you create it.
Think of the Universal energy like a server at a restaurant. If you walk into a restaurant and say, “I’m hungry. I’d like some food.” The server will bring you whatever is on hand. You might get a plate of seafood when you were actually craving a salad. But, you’re not hungry anymore. You got what you asked for. Still, you feel unsatisfied. This is why it’s important to be specific. Instead of saying to the Universe, “I want to be happy,” take some time and think about what makes you happy. What do you need in your life right now to feel happier? Is it more love? More money? Health? Freedom? The Universe is not judgmental nor necessarily benevolent. It’s an echo and will manifest your deepest and most repetitive thoughts. To continue with our server in the restaurant metaphor, if you walk into a restaurant and say, “I’d like a cheeseburger with fries,” the server isn’t going to say, “Didn’t your doctor just tell you to cut down on red meat?” No, you’ll receive the cheeseburger. Similarly, if you’re always thinking subconsciously, “I’m no good. Nothing ever goes my way,” then that’s what the Universe will deliver to you – more proof that you don’t deserve the abundance and joy that is your divine right. This is why it’s crucial to pull these weeds of fear and self-doubt from your subconscious and replace them with seeds of love, forgiveness and gratitude.
Only tell positive, supportive people about your goals. Do not tell everyone. Think about your goal as a fragile seed planted on a windy day. You need to nurture it and let it take root before you can see it bloom. If you tell your co-worker that you’re manifesting a new job, the co-worker might tell you all the reasons why this is a bad idea. As fear courses through your body listening to this well-meaning co-worker, your seed has just blown away with the winds of fear.
Once you’ve created your goal book, take some time each day to look at it. Day dream and meditate on the pictures in your goal book. See the goals happening to you. As you are manifesting, be vigilant for signs and synchronicities and take action when they appear in your life. If you’re manifesting a new relationship, and a friend asks you to a dinner party, go. Show the Universe you’re ready to get out there and meet people. If you’re manifesting a new job, and you get an email about an upcoming webinar on networking, sign up. We can’t create a goal book and treat it like a wishing well. We must take action to see our goals to reality. A Chinese proverb says, “Thought is the ancestor of action.” See yourself in harmony with the world around you and honor your power within. As you learn to become a co-create with the Universe, you will manifest miracles!
