Mystery of "heartbroken" dog with four puppies that waits on Platform 1 for same train night after night.

 

Attention has been drawn to a stray dog that stands on the same train platform in front of the same carriage every night, and her odd routine has sparked heartbreaking theories.
The female dog, which has four puppies, appears to be waiting for someone as she stares longingly at a train that arrives nightly at 11pm. CCTV shows how every single night at 11pm she arrives on Platform 1 at Kanjurmarg Station in Mumbai, India, and stares at a train bound for Kalyan. As the train pulls out of the station, she runs after it every single night without fail.

No one is certain why she does that, but commuters suspect she is looking for a former owner who may have abandoned her at the station before leaving on a train. It is believed her former owner might be female because she always waits in front of a women-only carriage.

Local resident Sameer Thorat captured the heartbreaking behaviour on video last week and posted his footage on social media, where it has gone viral. The footage shows the dog looking inside the carriage, pacing on the platform when no one steps off and then running after the departing train.
Thorat told the Mumbai Mirror: "I spotted the dog while returning from work. The way it waits for the late-night trains and tries to peek inside the ladies coach, it seems it is searching for a particular person who either fed it regularly or left it behind."
Some commuters decided to track the dog's movements, and discovered that she has four puppies. Rail staff have analsed CCTV and found the dog has been performing its strange routine as far back as January 2.
The dog has now become somewhat of a celebrity, and people have been feeding her and her puppies after watching the video.
