Richard Branson has uncovered a to-do list from 1972 showing his early ambitions.

The founder of the Virgin Group penned the list more than 40 years ago,  in which he aimed to learn to fly, to "invite nice people back" and to "start getting the small house together at The Manor"

Writing on virgin.com , he said:

"It’s fun taking a walk down memory lane, and seeing how far we’ve come and what we’ve achieved.
"My friend Kenny Kemp recently uncovered this little gem, from my 1972 diary."
"A year after writing this list, in 1973, we launched our Virgin Records label from The Manor, signed Mike Oldfield and released Tubular Bells – one of the biggest selling albums of the decade and the soundtrack to The Exorcist.
"From there Virgin Records grew and grew, and the rest, as they say, is history."Branson said: "Lists not only provide great structure for getting things done, but they also help us to set goals and achieve our dreams."
