If you’ve never heard of Australia’s Northern Territory, there’s now a tourist campaign
to leave it indelibly marked in your mind for eternity.
T-shirts have been revealed with the eye-opening slogan, ‘CU in the NT’.
And their play on words is plainly obvious (and genius).
People have been praising the NT Government for its bold choice of letters.
But it’s not official government merchandise, despite it coming from a group called NT
Official – so you can understand the confusion.
The independent company is selling the brand in a bid to encourage more young people to
visit the top end of the country.
To be fair, the Northern Territory is pretty amazing with a never ending wilderness
of canyons, mountains and waterfalls.
A spokesman for NT Official said: ‘We are a fronted by a guerilla group of people with the
aim of promoting travel awareness to the Northern Territory region
.
‘We want people to recognise that if they want to go to the NT they shouldn’t hesitate. They
should just go and tell their friends to “CU in the NT!”.’
