7 Rules For a Prosperous Life.

Confidence

Finding a life that is fulfilling, meaningful, and prosperous might seem like an unachievable goal, but that’s absolutely not true. With a little bit of effort and a willingness to grow your life can be transformed. Here is a list of things that you can start doing now, so that your future will be exactly what you’ve dreamed of it to be.

1. Learn from your life.

You can only learn from a mistake after you admit you’ve made it. As soon as you start blaming other people (or the universe itself) you distance yourself from any possible lesson. But if you courageously stand up and honestly say “This is my mistake and I am responsible” the possibilities for learning will move towards you. But for many reasons admitting mistakes is difficult. An implied value in many cultures is that our work represents us: if you fail a test, then you are a failure. If you make a mistake then you are a mistake. However we have to rearrange our thinking to cut ourselves so slack. Humans make mistakes all the time and it's a normal part of life. It's how we choose to react to them that makes us more successful.

2. Be of service to others.

Giving back is something you should do regularly. There are several reasons why being a service to others will make you feel more fulfilled in life. It allows you to connect to your community on a deeper level, and helps you to be a more well-rounded citizen. It can be good for your mental health by helping you be more grateful and even reduce stress. You can also share your expertise while also improving your skills. You can be of service in many different ways. It can be as small as helping your elderly neighbour by picking up their groceries, or as big as volunteering several hours of your week to a soup kitchen.

3. Let go of things you cannot control.

You may find yourself sitting around getting frustrated that you can’t get a certain situation to work out how you want; that’s normal. But no one wants to feel that way forever. It holds you back from feeling free and living your life to the fullest. The first step in letting go of control is to take a good look at why you’re fearful. We have a desire to hold control because we think it will give us security, however we never will feel secure like the way we think we will. To really feel free we have to recognize that control is an illusion, that things cannot always go the way we want, and even if they do it can be taken away in an instant.

4. Stay focused on your goals.

The first step to accomplishing all your goals and making your dreams come true starts with this simple realization that you are human: you are not perfect and you can’t do everything alone. Having a rough idea of where you’re realistically heading and a way to measure your success is important. Otherwise, you will feel like you haven’t achieved anything and that can kill your motivation. Aim for a few big goals and then spend the majority of your time executing them. Link your goals to daily habits that are achievable, and you’ll crush them to pieces. To begin, ask yourself the question, “What does success look like?” Use that as the basis for writing your goals and the specific actions you’ll take to accomplish those dreams.

5. Find your passion.

Ever say to yourself, "If I could just figure out what I'm really passionate about, everything else will take off"? Most people spent days trying to think about what their passion is. However there is a problem with that. Passion can't be found in your head because it lives in your heart. What makes your heart feel good? You need to take action and feel out what makes truly makes you happy. When you get out there and try out things you want to do, you'll start to feel more fulfilled.

6. Show yourself respect.

Not only must we respect others, but we need to respect ourselves as well. In today’s society, there is a general lack of self-esteem. In general we are way too harsh on ourselves, and are our own worst enemy. A good rule of thumb is that you should never tell yourself something that you wouldn’t say to your best friend. Would you tell your best friend that they aren’t good enough? Of course not! So there is no reason to tell yourself that.

7. Learn to listen.

There are times when it is better to remain silent than to speak. Very often we feel the need to express our opinion, but there are many situations in life when it is better just to keep quiet. By listening, we learn another person’s point of view and get a better understanding of the situation. For many people, this rule is one of the most difficult to digest.
Following these seven simple rules will bring you abundance, prosperity and happiness.
You will be able to achieve your goals in life, and even more! Always have a firm belief in what you intend to do, and you’ll flourish.
