Word to the wise — from the very, very wise: Stay single forever.
Louise Jean Signore from the Bronx turned 107 years old Wednesday. She says it’s not eating well or regularly exercising that has kept her alive this long — it’s being free of any man’s or woman’s baggage.
“I think the secret of 107: I never got married. I think that’s the secret. My sister says, ‘I wish I never got married,’ ” Signore tells CBS2 News.
To be fair, her sister is 102 years old — not too shabby for a married woman.
Signore went on to share what else she believes has kept her going strong all these years.
“Italian food is very good for you,” Signore said. “I was brought up with very good food. No soda, no cake.”
The single centenarian keeps a pretty busy schedule, too.
“If they have exercise, I do the exercise. If they have dancing, I dance. I still do a little dancing. After my lunch, I will play bingo, so I had a full day,” she says.
Signore celebrated her 107th year at the JASA Bartow Senior Center in Coop City with more than 100 family and friends in attendance.
“She’s got no walking cane, no wheelchair. She does all her shopping. She’s awesome,” her friend Deborah Whitaker tells CBS2’s Jessica Layton.

Signore is legally blind and suffered a recent bout of pneumonia, but she’s otherwise remarkably fit.
“I’m 107 and I just take a high blood pressure pill, that’s all,” she says.
This tough centenarian first made headlines in 2016 when she was brutally mugged in the hallway of her Bronx apartment building.
“I’m not going to be afraid,’’ the then-103-year-old told The Post. “I’m going to go out.”
BTW: The oldest person in the US is Alelia Murphy, 114, in Harlem, where Signore was actually born — begging the question: What’s in the water in Harlem?
