, struck again by stabbing a woman to death in front of her twin sons 11 times in broad daylight.
Before being released 9 years ago, the 77-year-old murderer had already served more than 25 years in prison for violent crimes against women. The first murder committed by the Army Veteran who had spent 19 years working at a doughnut shop in Westbrook, Maine, occurred 40 years ago after his wife served him with divorce papers.
It was gathered that in January 1979, his wife, 35-year-old Sandra Flick was found stabbed 14 times, but she lived just long enough to tell the neighbour her husband did it. However Flick was released in 2000, 9 years early into his 30 years jail sentence for good behaviour according to WCSH. But in 2007, Flick was charged again after violently attacking a woman he was dating. In 2010, after being released yet again, he assaulted another woman and was incarcerated, according to The Washington Post.
He struck again on July 15, 2018, stabbing Kimberly Dobbie, a homeless woman, 11 times in front of her two children. Flick had met Dobbie while living in Lewiston, Maine and quickly became infatuated with her. Witnesses said he was obsessed with her and would follow her throughout her day, though the feelings were apparently not mutual. He ended up attacking and killing her last summer. He was found guilty of the murder on Wednesday, and is expected to spend the remainder of his life in prison. Flick's sentencing is scheduled for August 9 and he faces a minimum of 25 years.
