A pastor has been accused of having a ‘Jesus complex’ after he flew into deliver a church service on a zipwire. Bartholomew Orr attracted widespread attention with the dramatic entrance he used to deliver his ‘Ready for Jesus’ return’ sermon at Brown Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi, Sunday. A clip of him flying has since been viewed by over a million people – with one cynic wondering whether Pastor Orr thought of himself as Christ himself, writing: ‘I guess he will walk on water next.’
Another critic wrote: ‘Props are for stage acts and shows, not for getting the message out.’ Others were more positive, with one viewer saying: ‘At least 1.1 million people were touched by the word in one way or another because of this video! ‘Won`t he do it!’ and ‘I am glad he did this… all the foolishness that goes viral. Let’s make Jesus go viral.’ And Pastor Orr himself said he is grateful to have spurred a wider conversation about religious belief. He told WREG: ‘No I didn’t expect it to go viral. ‘I come out and someone tells me you know what it’s 250,000 views. We are like huh! ‘Now 7 million folks, if nothing else, have heard the message “Are you ready for his return?”‘
