Despite releasing a ridiculously bad hand-drawn portrait of a suspect, police in Pennsylvania believe they got their man.
The image quickly went viral online and was roundly mocked for its lack of detail, but amazingly the information helped, according to police.
"While the sketch provided by the witness may have appeared amateurish and cartoonish, it, along with the distinctive physical descriptors, jogged the memory of at least one investigator to provide a potential suspect name," they said on the department's Crime Watch page Wednesday.
Identified as Hung Phuoc Nguyen, 44, authorities say he faces charges of two counts of theft by unlawful taking and are asking anyone with further information on his whereabouts to contact them.

On Tuesday, the Lancaster Police Department published a description of a person who allegedly posed as an employee of a stand at the Central Market Mall, only to rob the stall and flee with an undisclosed sum of cash, Lancaster Online reports.
Unfortunately for law enforcement, they also included a sketch of the suspect that appeared to have been drawn by "Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz.
"We released all of those details together in our police log in the hope that someone recognizes the suspect," they said in a Facebook post.
