Five Ways to Get Unstuck.

You have goals. Maybe you even see them, not far off, just waiting to be achieved. But, you’re stuck. Maybe you lack energy, time, and enthusiasm. Or, maybe someone said something that deflated your spirit and made you think the goal wasn’t achievable at all. Here are five ways to face whatever’s stopping you and move ahead – toward the achievement that you so deeply desire:

Refuse to Say, “No.”
There will always be obstacles on our way to achieving great goals. And there will be times when other things, perhaps necessary things, cause us to detour. But even at those moments, refuse to deny your dream or derail your determination. Never say, “No” to your goal, but rather, “Yes!”

Revisit Your Beginning
What was that spark that drove you to make a plan? What was the kernel of truth or wisdom that inspired you to start off toward your goal in the first place? The farther we get from that beginning, the easier it is to forget the exciting, energizing beginning. Revisit that time, and take that enthusiasm with you where you are, now.
Celebrate Your Successes
True, the big celebration, the big culmination of all your efforts, will be in achieving that ultimate goal. But along the way, you succeed in incremental ways, completing tasks and taking steps that all lead toward your central goal. Celebrate those achievements, too, so that you can feel like a winner even before you’ve totally won!
Invite the Spirit to Move You
Among the things we pray over and for, often we forget one of the most important: To be motivated in everything by the Spirit. Our Lord not only dwells in us, He also works in and through us. If our own enthusiasm is low, there’s no better way to raise it than to invite the Spirit to move us – and motivate us.

Get Going!
Nothing is accomplished by sitting around and saying, “I’m stuck.” You’ll just get even more mired in inaction. Write down a list of big and small items that all lead to your goal and start working on them. Progress can’t be made unless you get going!
