Series of the Mind (Never give up) by Leesah Bala

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”– Albert Einstein

I have had periods where giving up was my only option on the table, I felt I wasn't good for anything (not me, my family or humanity) so depression and so many ungodly thought crippled in. It was as though I have nothing to do, I felt worthless, rejected as tough I have hit the brick wall once more. I must confess I felt I had no control over anything like a tiny speck. Lake of tears stream down freely as if the whole was sitting on me but this just the circumstances and how it affected me but what comes after, are the actions I choose.

Winston Churchill said "When you are going through hell, keep on going, Never never never give up.”

The reason why most of us never achieve our dreams is because they simply give up. Life was never meant to be easy – it’s a constant struggle, with extreme lows and extreme highs. Remember that the times when it’s most important to persevere are the times that you will be most tested.

Here are reasons why should give up no matter the situation

It’s better to try and fail than to wonder what might have been.

Have you ever regretted trying something in your life? if yes, how do you avoid that feeling of regret? By trying, You don’t have to do something huge, but sitting down and making a plan with small steps on how you will achieve your dreams will start you off in the right direction. Little by little you will forge a path towards your goals and dreams and bring it into reality.

You Are Alive and You Can

So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. - Christopher Reeve

As long as you are alive you have no excuse to say you can’t. If you put your mind to it, you can do anything. Anything is possible.

Face your Fears

Nothing has control over your emotion. And speaking of fears, quitting means giving in to them and to added pessimism, sadness and misery. What you should do instead is love your fears, feed on your fears, argue with your fears, and show those fears who are the better man (or woman). Let them fuel your motivation and determination in becoming better than the you who would give up and resent later for it.

You’re a lot closer than you think you are.

Many people give up not realizing that success is right around the corner. There are not always clear markers in achieving a difficult goal. The finish line could be just around the next bend.

Believe it or not, some people will be glad that you gave up.

They may not say it, but unfortunately many people you know will hope for you to give up. This is for the simple reason that your dedication to your goal will remind them of their own unrealized potential. Rather than proving your doubters right, let your dedication inspire.

Gain experience

When you do something over and over and over again, you become better at it. You win some, you lose some, but you keep going until one day you wake up and find yourself being somewhat of an expert at it.

Learn from your Mistakes

Nelson Mandela said there is nothing as failure, you either win or you learn. Even if you do fail, you can find 10 new ways of giving it another shot and succeeding. Quitting will help you find none. You try, and you stumble on your way, and you make mistakes, but you keep on trying and eventually you get it.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10.000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas Edison
